ARCHITECTURE PROJECT PROFILE

Clifton Park Water Authority, Clifton Park, New York

When the Clifton Park Water Authority needed to relocate its operation from the Town Public Safety Building, C.T. Male designed a new 3,400-square-foot, single-story municipal office building, conveniently located across from the Town Hall. To blend in with the residential surroundings, construction of the new facility was designed utilizing a wood frame structure, with non-combustible fiber-cement siding and trims, masonry veneer wainscot, aluminum-clad wood windows with low-e insulated glazing, 40-year architectural asphalt shingles and an open porch colonnade. An exterior postal mail slot was included to accommodate drop off of utility bill payments by the local residents. The building layout offers an open plan design for various workstations such as billing, mailing and other department business, and includes an administration area, conference room, lunchroom, restrooms, an office and several large storage areas with a rear delivery entrance. In addition, the new office building is equipped with a natural gas fired emergency backup generator for emergency power situations.
