BUILDING SYSTEMS ENGINEERING DIVISION

Energy Engineer, Latham Office

 

An exciting career opportunity is available for an Energy Engineer to lead the Energy Engineering process for energy efficient projects, develop new business and support the growing energy engineering initiative.  Will work with building owners, developers, architects, engineers, and contractors to provide energy efficiency advice and assistance. Will identify and provide documentation of on-site opportunities for energy efficiency in buildings under design and construction. Will participate in QA/QC and internal audit/review activities.  Will review and discuss technical elements of energy-consuming equipment in a facility (lighting, HVAC, hot water systems, etc.) and how it affects utility consumption and demand.

B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.  10+ years experience working on energy-related projects.  Knowledge of current energy related legislation, funding sources, and DOE/NYSERDA programs.  Certified Energy Manager (CEM) preferred. Ability to perform energy audits, economic alternatives analysis for projects; feasibility studies for renewable energy projects; provide conceptual design of energy efficiency/renewable energy systems; perform material and energy balances; and possess the ability to interpret engineering drawings.

ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES DIVISION

Senior Planner, Latham Office

 

Full time position responsible for identifying sources of funding for infrastructure improvement and development projects for municipal governments and private corporations, prepare grant and other funding applications, and interface with clients regarding grant administration. Must be a self starter with ability to successfully cultivate present and future planning opportunities. Experience in preparing comprehensive land use plans, local waterfront revitaliztion plans, and zoning code language is required. Knowledge of SEQRA and NEPA procedural requirements is required. Ability to make presentations to municipal boards and represent municipal boards in a public forum is a must.

Bachelor's Degree, Master's preferred, in Land Planning plus a minimum of 5 years experience.  AICP certification required.
