Route Surveys - Selected Project Experience
Commonwealth Associates/Sigma Associates - The Oneida Co-Generation Transmission Line; Oneida, New YorkProject included establishing state plane coordinate control utilizing in-house GPS services. In addition, baselines were established along the proposed centerline, and engineering surveys, appropriation maps and descriptions along the 3.2 mile line were provided.
CNG Transmission Corporation (Dominion Transmission Corporation) TL – 474 Ext 2
C.T. Male surveyed the 13.4 mile pipeline providing wetlands surveys, easement preparation and construction stakeout.
Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation; Trans York Pipeline #59; Jefferson County, New YorkC.T. Male surveyed, identified and staked-out the centerline for 15± miles. Appropriation maps and descriptions were prepared. A hydrographic survey of the proposed crossing site on the St. Lawrence Seaway to Wolfe Island, Canada was also provided.
Sithe Energies, U.S.A. - Lakeview Inc. - Oswego, New YorkProvided photogrammetric mapping and control on NYS Plane Coordinate System established by GPS Methods in AutoCad Release 10 format for +-300 acre site for a proposed 750 megawatt cogeneration plant. Additional services to date include; wetland mapping rescaled after combining 14 topographic sheets.
Tennessee Gas Pipeline Co.; Agawam, MassachusettsOpen-ended contract for surveying and engineering services on an as-needed basis. Latest project is a 5-mile baseline survey and location of structures in Syracuse, NY. Prior projects include natural gas pipeline survey in Western Massachusetts; survey of the Massachusetts section of Maine to Pennsylvania gas transmission line; environmental permits for proposed pipeline through Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York; deed and route study for transmission lines in Worcester, MA to Hamilton, NY.
Power Authority of the State of New York - Marcy South 345 KV Transmission Line; Grand Gorge, New York123 miles of boundary, right-of-way mapping and easement mapping within the Counties of Orange, Delaware and Sullivan. The project consisted of almost 400 parcels. Construction stake-out of 60 miles of transmission line within the Counties of Herkimer and Otsego.
Power Authority of the State of New York - Malone to Plattsburgh, NY - 240 KV Transmission LineSurveyed and mapped fee acquisitions of 45 mile section from Malone to Plattsburgh, NY for proposed 240 KV transmission line. Field data, together with title research, were used to determine property lines for 210 parcels along the route. Proposed easement to be acquired, and described in terms of NYS Plane Coordinate System.
National Fuels - Gas Transmission Line Survey; Batavia, New York
C.T. Male Associates, P.C. provided orthographic mapping, easement mapping, construction stakeout, and as-built mapping of an 11-mile pipeline from Batavia to Leroy, New York for the O-AT-KA cogeneration plant in Batavia.
Junction Natural Gas Storage Project – Chestnut Ridge Natural Gas Storage Field, Fayette County, Pennsylvania and Monongalia and Preston Counties, West Virginia – Client – eCORP & Tenaska (Chestnut Ridge Storage, LLC). Provided boundary, easement and utility location of a 20 mile natural gas pipeline and storage project. Project tasks included computations of proposed gas lines, approximately 22 gas storage wells, compressor station, electric lines, access roads, permanent and temporary workspace easements, wetland and sensitive archaeological areas. Preliminary alignment sheet mapping for FERC permit submittal was performed using ortho-photography tied to global positioning control points, field survey information and geographic information systems.
Arlington Natural Gas Storage Project, Thomas Corners, NY. – Client – Inergy. Surveying services including right of way surveying for environmental and archaeological investigations, pipeline field survey, preparation of alignment sheets for FERC permit, construction stakeout and record survey of an 8 mile pipeline and new compressor station. The project included a 2200 foot directional drill under the Canisteo River and Norfolk Southern Railroad.
Arlington Natural Gas Storage Project – South Lateral - Thomas Corners, NY. – Client – Inergy. Surveying services including right of way surveying for reconstruction of an 8 mile pipeline to tie the Arlington Natural Gas Storage Project to the Columbia Gas Transmission pipeline. Services included pipeline field survey and preparation of alignment sheets.
Stagecoach Natural Gas Storage Project, Owego, NY – Client – eCORP. Provided Surveying and GIS services for all design, construction and record survey of natural gas storage facility and all gathering lines. Project included 5.5 miles of 12” and 20” pipe, a 1.5 mile 115 KV electric line and 11 storage wells.
Stagecoach Natural Gas Storage Project Phase II, Bradford County, PA - Client – Central New York Oil and Gas. Provided centerline survey construction stakeout and condemnation surveys for 6.5 miles of gas pipeline including 6 storage wells.
Stagecoach Natural Gas Storage Project North Lateral, Owego, NY – Client - Central New York Oil and Gas. Provided centerline survey and condemnation surveys for 9 miles of 20” gas pipeline for tie into Mellinium Gas Line.
Besicorp – Empire Development, Rensselaer, NY. – Client – Besicorp. Survey, environmental services and mapping for a $1 Billion development of Cogen plant, paper recycling plant, 8 mile electric transmission line, 4 mile gas transmission line and directional drill of the Hudson River for cooling water supply. Services included: topographic surveys for designs, ALTA/ACSM Land Title surveys for financing, subdivision plat preparation, parcel legal descriptions and wetland surveys. Preparation of variance and site plan applications and presentation to the public and the review boards for approvals.
Empire Generating (FKA Besicorp) – Rensselaer, NY – Preparation of EM&CP plans for both a 4 mile natural gas line and 8 mile electric transmission line, design of access roads and crossing applications; and construction stakeout of natural gas line corridor, Right-Of-Way/clearing limits, transmission line towers and access roads. Services also included environmental inspection and compliance tasks for the project and construction observation of the 4 mile gas transmission line.
Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation-Hudson River Crossing from Albany to Rensselaer, New York. Prepared a hydrographic survey of river bottom for directional drill design, established USACOE Pier and Bulkhead lines and existing NYS Office of General Services underwater land grants.
Seneca Power Partners Preparation of as-built drawings on aerial photographs for 10.4 miles of gas transmission pipeline in Batavia, New York.
Dominion Transmission Inc. Preparation of boundary, centerline, topographic and easement surveys for multiple gas metering stations, cathodic protection and pipe exposure surveys throughout New York State under a multi year term agreement.
Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc. Various professional surveying and mapping services for a multi year term agreement as a subcontractor for Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc., including survey of gas substation sites, boundary and topographic surveys of tracts for acquisition and design of proposed electric substations, record surveys and construction stakeout of various transmission lines in Orange and Rockland Counties, New York. C.T. Male has held this contract continuously since 2002.
Harlan Electric Survey stakeout of twin 15 mile long overhead electric transmission lines for New York State Electric & Gas in Ithaca, NY. Proposed improvements on the 715 & 947 lines that were staked included clearing limits, structure and guy locations, access roads and wetlands.
New York Power Authority Term Contract for Surveying and Mapping services for Blenheim – Gilboa and St. Lawrence Regions of New York. Surveying includes various right-of-way surveying, stakeout and mapping of existing and proposed utility lines throughout the regions, underground utility location and mapping services and detailed substation surveying. Work also includes High Definition Laser Scanning using C.T. Male’s Leica HDS 360 Laser Scanner for detailed mapping of other power infrastructure.
