Albany International Airport

The Albany International Airport recently needed to upgrade the escalators inside the main terminal. C.T. Male Associates, P.C. was hired to provide detailed measurements of the existing terminal escalator configuration including structural building tie in and clearances. The use of C.T. Male’s Leica ScanStation Laser Scanner was the best choice for performing the highly accurate measurements required. By using the scanner, the measurements were easily acquired of inaccessible but visible areas during off-peak hours in order to not interrupt foot traffic. Upon completion of the field data collection phase of the project, the data was processed, registered in point clouds and the required measurements were extracted within 24 hours of the scan.
