C.T. MALE NOW OFFERS STATE-OF-THE-ART LASER SCANNING

LATHAM, NY (April 2007) - C.T. Male Associates, P.C. is pleased to announce that the firm is now operating the latest class in laser scanners technology from Leica called “ScanStation.” This laser scanner combines the technology of a conventional surveying total station and a 3D laser scanner. The ScanStation is capable of collecting survey data at 4,000 points per second, which allows for the collection of thousands of unobtrusive data points in less time and with lower cost than the traditional surveying methods. The ScanStation allows 360° horizontal and 270° vertical field of view, providing the user with flexibility and efficiency. The data collected during the laser scanning process, which is known as “point cloud,” contains the information with the same accuracy of a total station offering the ability to make measurements up to 950 feet at 90% albedo (surfaces reflecting strength). “The potential uses for this equipment are immeasurable,” says Raymond Liuzzo, the Survey Group Manager for C.T. Male. “This Scanner greatly increases our ability to respond to ever-changing client needs with the sophistication our clients expect”.

The use of this state-of-the-art technology is virtually unlimited and includes: roadway and bridge design, bridge clearance surveys, tunnel inspections, bridge inspections, stockpile quantity surveys (volumes), building renovations, historic preservation and forensic investigations, to name a few.
