These positions will provide field and related office services on construction projects as a representative of the firm.

Position requires familiarity with:

  • Construction survey procedures.
  • NYSDEC mandated Stormwater Pollution Plan (SWPPP) Inspections and NYSDEC 4-hour Erosion and Sediment Control Training requirements.
  • General utility construction (water, sewer, drainage, roadway).

Asbestos Project Monitors

C.T. Male Associates has multiple opportunities for Asbestos Project Monitors in Yonkers and the Capital District area to work on asbestos abatement projects.

These positions will provide on-site representation during asbestos abatement activity at a variety of sites.  Candidates will collect air samples during abatement activity, monitor Contractor activities and provide daily documentation of project progress.   

The ideal candidates must be NYSDOL certified and trained as a NYSDOL Project Monitor/Air Tech with 1+ years of experience. Knowledge of applicable environmental regulations (NYSDOL ICR-56). MS Office experience a plus. Must have excellent record keeping skills.

Asbestos Project Coordinator

We have a full time opportunity for an Asbestos Project Coordinator, in our Latham, NY office.

The position will perform asbestos inspections, coordinate asbestos abatement project coverage with field staff, provide documentation and prepare reports for distribution to clients and report to the Managing Industrial Hygienist.

The ideal candidate must be NYSDOL certified and trained as a NYSDOL Asbestos Inspector, and NYSDOL Project Monitor/Air Tech with 2+ years of experience.   • providing technical support, design and management of Land Services Projects

Project Surveyor

We are seeking a full-time Project Surveyor with capabilities to perform both field and office assignments. The position will work out of our Highland, NY office.

The successful candidate will:

Manage survey projects and acts as lead professional to provide clients with quality products. Exercise leadership and motivation within the project team to ensure good performance by all members. Provide technical and professional consultation on projects involving survey issues.

Work in the field and office as necessary to complete project tasks, including:

  • Interprets maps, design plans, architectural plans, and specifications.
  • Knows and applies Boundary Law while performing boundary surveys.
  • Directs and instructs Rod Person, Instrument Operator Intern and Instrument Operator engaged in making field surveys, using survey notes, maps, deeds, etc.
  • Secure information from Public Corporations, Government Agencies, and other surveyors including deed research.
  • Act as Client Manager/Project Manager for select clients and term agreements.
  • Review potential market/clients to pursue with Survey Division Manager and Marketing Director.
  • Negotiate contracts, prepare proposals and manage financial and technical aspects of projects.
  • Develop Scope of work in accordance with the client’s requirements.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  Bachelor’s Degree in Surveying and / or a minimum of 10 years of experience with Project Management.  Must have thorough knowledge of all types of land surveys.  Must have complete knowledge of purpose and procedures for field and office work regarding surveys.  PLS required, preferably from NYS.  If PLS is held in another state, must have the ability to become licensed in NYS within one year.  Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license.  May be required to be certified to work on hazardous waste projects.  May be required to undergo drug testing as required for specific projects or fingerprinting as required for security clearance purposes.

This position will perform survey work involving boundary, topographic, utility, construction and other surveys required for property and right-of-way determinations and for establishing and maintaining benchmarks and monumentations.  Directs and oversees the survey crew.

The successful candidate will:

  • Prepare, practice and execute all Health and Safety Procedures, for self and all employees under his/her supervision
  • Expertly perform all duties of all lower classifications, and instruct in any or all duties and requirements of Instrument Operator
  • Have a full working knowledge of Boundary Law

Solar Energy Project Manager

An exciting career opportunity is available for a dynamic individual with a diverse background and high level of understanding of the solar PV market.  The ideal candidate will either have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university or be a licensed master electrician with demonstrated field experience, or equivalent related experience and/or training; with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the solar industry design and construction installation practices; electrical engineering design, codes and standards; utility regulations and requirements; financial/economic analysis.

Essential duties and responsibilities for this position include:

  • Independently or with minimal supervision provide technical review of solar PV system design drawings, calculations and other documents including contracts for technical quality in accordance with local and national codes and standards and good engineering design practices.
  • Strong teaming skills. As a member of the Electrical Engineering Services Division will support developing electrical designs and bid and construction documents for a variety of low voltage to high voltage projects.  Work with clients and contractors providing construction administrative services.
  • Develop scopes of work, cost proposals, and schedules for new and potential projects/clients.
  • Perform and oversee site visits and construction administration services to assess the quality of work installed in conformance with contract documents and local and national codes and standards. Prepare reports summarizing findings.
  • Remain current with the solar PV industry including local and national legislation, available programs, financing opportunities, etc.
  • Meeting with clients/potential clients, and participation in conferences and trade shows to introduce C.T. Male’s Solar Consulting Services. Assist in continued development of the solar business sector within C.T. Male.
  • Work with the other Divisions within C.T. Male to coordinate the preparation and performance of work scopes developed with the client.

  • Assist in designing Solar PV systems and their medium voltage interconnection to utility distribution systems.
  • Assist in performing power studies that include protective device coordination, short circuit and arc flash analysis.
  • Assist in design, drafting and support services for electrical projects, including power and lighting distribution systems for new buildings and infrastructure, building renovations, power and controls for water and wastewater systems and site utilities.
