Requirements:

  • 3-5 years design and construction administration experience
  • BArch or MArch, NAAB-accredited program
  • Registered architect in New York State preferred
  • NCARB certified is a plus
  • Broad-ranging portfolio of project experience, including commercial, municipal, and public works project types
  • Strong working knowledge of building systems; must be production proficient in the current version of AutoCAD and CSI MasterFormat specifications.
  • Knowledge of REVIT is a plus
  • Demonstrated skill at managing the scope, schedule and budget of projects, including estimating production efforts, project coordination, and building codes
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and leadership abilities to provide quality client service as a member of the project design team

Wetlands Biologist

C.T. Male Associates is seeking a wetlands biologist with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience to join our Environmental Services Division in our Albany, New York Headquarters. As a Wetlands Biologist at C.T. Male, you will exercise independent judgement performing field and office work necessary to complete field wetlands delineations and associated environmental permitting work, including protected species assessments and historic resources inquiries. Depending on your level of experience, you will have a wide variety of responsibilities, including, but not necessarily limited to: NEPA and SEQRA compliance work, writing environmental permits, performing or supervising stormwater inspections, environmental site assessments, subsurface investigations, and environmental sampling. Requirements:

  • A minimum 4-year B.A. or B.S. degree with a major in biology or environmental science with biology concentration is preferred but soil science, geology, or hydrogeology degrees also will be considered. A candidate with a M.S. would be preferred for this position.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of post-graduate relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of State and Federal environmental review protocols involving NYSDEC and USACOE is required, along with an ability to field identify wetland plants.
  • Ability to travel to project site(s), walk for several miles, work in extreme temperatures, rough terrain and work independently in remote areas.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Asbestos Project Monitors

We have multiple opportunities for Asbestos Project Monitors in the Capital Region to work on asbestos abatement projects. These positions will provide on-site representation during asbestos abatement activity at a variety of sites, will collect air samples during abatement activity, will monitor Contractor activities and will provide daily documentation of project progress.

The ideal candidates must be NYSDOL certified and trained as a NYSDOL Project Monitor/Air Tech with 1+ years of experience. Knowledge of applicable environmental regulations (NYSDOL ICR-56). MS Office experience a plus. Must have excellent record keeping skills. Valid driver’s license required.

Male Associates is seeking to hire a Geotechnical Services Team Leader at our Albany, NY headquarters; this full-time position offers unlimited potential for advancement, including project management, mentorship programs, a complete benefits package and firm ownership opportunities. As a Geotechnical Services Team Leader at C.T. Male, you will be responsible for managing and directing geotechnical engineering services offered by the firm, performing project management responsibilities for standalone geotechnical and dam projects as well as providing support to the firm’s many technical divisions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, coordinate and review the work of geotechnical staff within the Civil Engineering Division.
  • Assist the Civil Engineering Division Manager in the hiring and evaluation of staff.
  • Mentor junior geotechnical staff, helping to develop their leadership and client engagement skills
  • Provide explanations of technical and constructability issues.
  • Perform quality reviews of reports and required communications with clients, authorities having jurisdiction and/or contractors.
  • Conduct site visits to review site conditions exposed by construction, construction means and methods, job site safety issues of C.T. Male personnel, and conformance of work with design intent and project specifications.
  • Develop business opportunities in the areas of dam engineering/consulting services and technical support of contactor submittals for earth support systems, mini pile foundations and other specialty geotechnical contracting services by marketing geotechnical and dam engineering services to new and existing public and private sector clients.
  • Keep abreast of continuing education programs and software that would benefit the geotechnical services offered by the firm and those programs and software that should be attended/purchased and a schedule for same.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of twenty (20) years relevant experience with geotechnical engineering.
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S., PE minimum) from a four-year college or university and preferably a Masters’ Degree with a concentration in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • A NYS Professional Engineer license.
  • A valid NYS driver’s license.

We have a full-time paid internship opportunity in the Survey Division in our Latham, NY office. Interns will be responsible for boundary, topographic and construction surveying. Knowledge with the use of robotic total station, data collectors and GPS experience preferred. 40-hour OSHA training a plus. Local and out of town travel will be required. Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Project Surveyor

We are seeking a full-time Project Surveyor with capabilities to perform both field and office assignments. The position will work out of our Poughkeepsie, NY office.

The successful candidate will:

Manage survey projects and acts as lead professional to provide clients with quality products. Exercise leadership and motivation within the project team to ensure good performance by all members. Provide technical and professional consultation on projects involving survey issues.

Work in the field and office as necessary to complete project tasks, including:

  • Interprets maps, design plans, architectural plans, and specifications.
  • Knows and applies Boundary Law while performing boundary surveys.
  • Directs and instructs Rod Person, Instrument Operator Intern and Instrument Operator engaged in making field surveys, using survey notes, maps, deeds, etc.
  • Secure information from Public Corporations, Government Agencies, and other surveyors including deed research.
  • Act as Client Manager/Project Manager for select clients and term agreements.
  • Review potential market/clients to pursue with Survey Division Manager and Marketing Director.
  • Negotiate contracts, prepare proposals and manage financial and technical aspects of projects.
  • Develop Scope of work in accordance with the client’s requirements.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Surveying and / or a minimum of 10 years of experience with Project Management. Must have thorough knowledge of all types of land surveys. Must have complete knowledge of purpose and procedures for field and office work regarding surveys. PLS required, preferably from NYS. If PLS is held in another state, must have the ability to become licensed in NYS within one year. Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license. May be required to be certified to work on hazardous waste projects. May be required to undergo drug testing as required for specific projects or fingerprinting as required for security clearance purposes.

  • Associates Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience and/or training.
  • Valid NYS driver’s license.
  • Ability to comfortably lift up to 75 lbs. of equipment and walk comfortably with it several feet.
  • OSHA 40-Hour training is a plus.
  • OSHA 10-Hour Construction training is a plus.
