We have a full time opportunity for a Construction Observer in our Latham, NY office.

The position will provide field and related office services on construction projects as a representative of the firm.

The position requires familiarity with:

  • Construction survey procedures.
  • Establishment of line and grade for construction.
  • Method of various means of transfer of line and grade.
  • General utility construction (water, sewer, drainage, roadway).
  • Determination of pipe capacities, velocities and slopes.
  • Local, State and Federal laws in regard to environmental health regulations, and construction standards.
  • Local, State and Federal laws in regard to labor standard.
  • Standard details and construction specifications of the firm.
  • Project recordkeeping for preparation of a certification report to include daily reports, panel placement, daily test seams, manufacturer’s certification, destructive and nondestructive testing.
  • Familiarity with traffic control and OSHA protocol.

QUALIFICATIONS

Associates Degree in Civil Engineering, Technology program or equivalent from a two year college or technical school.

The position will be responsible for providing engineering support for various projects.  The ideal candidate will have at least seven years experience in the design of detailed water treatment plant and wastewater treatment plant projects. Job Summary
Provide energy analysis and engineering services on projects assigned by the Energy and Building System Services Division Manager.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Independently or with minimal supervision, perform building energy audits/surveys; identify Energy Efficient Measures (EEM’s); develop and perform energy & cost savings, estimated cost to implement and simple payback.  Perform energy savings estimating using spreadsheet analysis, bin-hour analysis, or other similar tools.  Maintain proficiency with eQuest, Trane Trace, Carrier HAP and/or other energy estimating software packages to determine energy savings for more complex systems or from a whole building analysis.  Benchmark buildings against published data (CBECS, MECS) and US EPA Portfolio Manager.  Develop cost estimates for implementation of EEM’s based on published data (RS Means) or vendor quotes.  Read and interpret customer utility bills and enters data into third party software for tracking and analyzing.  Coordinate with utility/NYSERDA energy services programs, for incentives available to clients.  Assist in/perform code research, to determine latest code requirements to be followed.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university accompanied with participation in the Industrial Assessment Center program or equivalent related experience and/or training; with a minimum of 1-3 years of professional experience.

Senior Mechanical Engineer

Qualifications: 6-10 years of progressive design and project management experience, developing project designs from concept through completion of construction documents. Experience in a wide breadth of project and system types, serving higher education, institutional and healthcare, industrial, and commercial buildings.  Ability to work with internal and external clients to develop projects. HVAC, plumbing and fire protection design experience required.

Required Skills: Autocad 2015, building heating and cooling load calculation programs. Building energy modeling – eQuest, Trane Trace or similar is a plus, but not essential.

Senior / Managing Environmental Engineer

We have a full time opportunity for a Senior Managing Environmental Engineer in our Latham, NY office. This position will be responsible for providing engineering services and technical support for projects assigned by senior and managing engineers.

The successful candidate will be:

Highly knowledgeable of the various USEPA and NYSDEC environmental regulatory programs; including but not limited to the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, solid and hazardous waste programs, environmental auditing, and petroleum and chemical bulk storage programs. Additional experience in water and/or wastewater treatment plant design, and/or with the environmental regulatory programs of other Northeast states preferred.

Responsible for direct client contact and interaction, development of project scopes and fees, and implementation of project work scopes within the prescribed timelines and budgets. Responsibilities will include providing client representation and interaction with various federal, State and local regulatory agencies, as necessary.

Education/License Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in environmental, chemical or civil engineering and 10+ years experience in providing environmental and health & safety regulatory compliance and design services for institutional, industrial and governmental entities. Must hold and maintain a valid NYS driver’s license. A NYS Professional Engineer license is required.

Asbestos Project Monitor

We have a full time opportunity for an Asbestos Project Monitor in the Yonkers, NY area.

The position will provide on-site representation during asbestos abatement activity at a variety of sites.  Candidate will collect air samples during abatement activity, monitor Contractor activities and provide daily documentation of project progress.   

The ideal candidate must be NYSDOL certified and trained as a NYSDOL Project Monitor/Air Tech with 1+ years of experience. Knowledge of applicable environmental regulations (NYSDOL ICR-56). MS Office experience a plus. Must have excellent record keeping skills.

Asbestos Project Coordinator

We have a full time opportunity for an Asbestos Project Coordinator, in our Latham, NY office.

The position will perform asbestos inspections, coordinate asbestos abatement project coverage with field staff, provide documentation and prepare reports for distribution to clients and report to the Managing Industrial Hygienist.

The ideal candidate must be NYSDOL certified and trained as a NYSDOL Asbestos Inspector, and NYSDOL Project Monitor/Air Tech with 2+ years of experience. Landscape Architect

We have a full time opportunity for a Landscape Architect to join the Land Services team in our Latham, NY office. This position will include:

  • providing technical support, design and management of Land Services Projects
  • Planting design including wetland and storm water treatment management plantings

Site Civil Engineer

We have a full time opportunity for a Site Civil Engineer to join the Land Services team in our Latham, NY office. This position will be responsible for providing design support services for the Land Services Team and other groups as assigned by the Division Manager.

Design, engineer and coordinate agency approvals for Land Development Projects as assigned by the Group Manager.

  • Performs feasibility studies and prepares reports on results
  • Performs designs required for construction of roads, utilities, and private sewage/water systems for residential subdivisions for commercial/industrial sites
  • Prepares Engineer’s Reports (sewer, water, drainage, general)
  • Prepares forms required for processing projects through regulatory agencies
  • Performs field work required for design and processing of projects including inspections for certification, soil borings, percolation tests, and site visits to resolve unanticipated construction problems
  • Prepares scope of services and fee estimates
  • Acts as Project Engineer on the design of wastewater and water conveyance and treatment facilities
  • Acts as town designated engineer for design review of residential subdivisions and commercial/industrial sites and makes presentations to planning boards
  • Maintain client contact regarding project status
  • Initiate and follow-up quality control review procedures on final plans and reports, resolve review comments, and deliver documents to the client
  • Maintain client in order to promote future projects
  • Support, practice, and enforce company safety policies
  • Maintain open communication with other groups on projects
  • Preparation of agency submittals and approvals
  • Presentations at public meetings

A B.S. in Civil Engineering, and 7+ years of experience are required. Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D. New York State P.E. and valid Driver’s License.
