  • Must be production proficient in the current version of AutoCAD and AIA MasterSpec specifications. Knowledge of REVIT is a plus.

Asbestos Project Monitors

We have multiple opportunities for Asbestos Project Monitors in the Capital Region to work on asbestos abatement projects. These positions will provide on-site representation during asbestos abatement activity at a variety of sites, will collect air samples during abatement activity, will monitor Contractor activities and will provide daily documentation of project progress.

The ideal candidates must be NYSDOL certified and trained as a NYSDOL Project Monitor/Air Tech with 1+ years of experience. Knowledge of applicable environmental regulations (NYSDOL ICR-56). MS Office experience a plus. Must have excellent record keeping skills. Valid driver’s license required.

We have a full-time paid internship opportunity in the Survey Division in our Latham, NY office. Interns will be responsible for boundary, topographic and construction surveying. Knowledge with the use of robotic total station, data collectors and GPS experience preferred. 40-hour OSHA training a plus. Local and out of town travel will be required. Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Project Surveyor

We are seeking a full-time Project Surveyor with capabilities to perform both field and office assignments. The position will work out of our Poughkeepsie, NY office.

The successful candidate will:

Manage survey projects and acts as lead professional to provide clients with quality products. Exercise leadership and motivation within the project team to ensure good performance by all members. Provide technical and professional consultation on projects involving survey issues.

Work in the field and office as necessary to complete project tasks, including:

  • Interprets maps, design plans, architectural plans, and specifications.
  • Knows and applies Boundary Law while performing boundary surveys.
  • Directs and instructs Rod Person, Instrument Operator Intern and Instrument Operator engaged in making field surveys, using survey notes, maps, deeds, etc.
  • Secure information from Public Corporations, Government Agencies, and other surveyors including deed research.
  • Act as Client Manager/Project Manager for select clients and term agreements.
  • Review potential market/clients to pursue with Survey Division Manager and Marketing Director.
  • Negotiate contracts, prepare proposals and manage financial and technical aspects of projects.
  • Develop Scope of work in accordance with the client’s requirements.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Surveying and / or a minimum of 10 years of experience with Project Management. Must have thorough knowledge of all types of land surveys. Must have complete knowledge of purpose and procedures for field and office work regarding surveys. PLS required, preferably from NYS. If PLS is held in another state, must have the ability to become licensed in NYS within one year. Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license. May be required to be certified to work on hazardous waste projects. May be required to undergo drug testing as required for specific projects or fingerprinting as required for security clearance purposes.

3D Laser Scanner Drafter

We have a full-time opportunity for a 3D Laser Scanner Drafter in our Latham, NY office. This position will be responsible for drafting various types of survey maps using AutoCAD and Leica Geosystems HDS Cyclone mapping / modeling software for internal and external clients. Demonstrates knowledge of surveying and laser scanner terminology. Utilize Leica Geosystems HDS Cyclone Mapping/Modeling software to manage point cloud data and transfer data into AutoCAD Civil 3D for mapping purposes. Conform to AutoCAD layering standards as prescribed. Prepare a wide variety of maps, along with plot plans and profiles.

Education/License Requirements

Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must hold and maintain a valid NYS driver’s license.
