A Licensed Engineer with a degree in Civil Engineering and more than three decades of experience with land development and land use planning, Dominick will serve as the Division Manager for the Land Services Division at C.T. Male Associates.

We recently caught up with Dominick to learn more about his background, his goals, and his interests outside of work.

Q: Tell us about your role at C.T. Male Associates.
A: As the Division Manager for Land Services, I’m responsible for the overall management of the division’s personnel, production and operations, including staff development, financial management, technical review, project design and public hearings. I also maintain a “hands-on” approach to all projects within the division.

Q: What made you choose this field?
A: I was always interested in construction projects, and my curiosity for how things were built eventually led me into the field of engineering and land development.

Q: What is your educational background?
A: I have a Bachelor of Technology degree in Civil Engineering (Environmental Option) from the Rochester Institute of Technology, and an Associate of Applied Science degree in Civil Engineering (Highway Option) from Hudson Valley Community College. I’m a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New York, with Provisional Licenses in New Hampshire and Pennsylvania, and I’m also a member of both the American Society of Civil Engineers and the National Society of Professional Engineers.

Q: What unique skills or experience do you bring to the position?
A: I’ve represented private and public clients before Local, State and Federal Government Agencies for residential, commercial and industrial developments, as well as general consulting. I have experience with land use planning and development, stormwater systems and management, water and wastewater systems, project and construction management, parks and recreation facilities, site plans and building design. In addition, I’ve conducted feasibility studies, issued engineering reports, and have experience with regulatory permitting and assistance, State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) Compliance, and existing conditions assessments.

Q: What is your favorite type of land development project – commercial, recreational, urban, residential?
A: There is not one land development project that stands out over the others for me. Every project is different in all aspects of planning and design, and every project is interesting.

Q: What are you looking forward to most about your new position?
A: I’m looking forward to working with the other qualified engineers, landscape architects and technicians in the Land Services Division, and I’m eager to apply my 35 years of experience in civil engineering and land development to support the Division’s project teams and assist clients.

Q: What are your goals for your first year with C.T. Male Associates?
A: My short term goal is to become acclimated with C.T. Male Associates’ projects and clients so that I can provide the best services possible. Long term, I hope to facilitate collaboration and improve productivity.

Q: What do you enjoy outside of work?
A: I enjoy the outdoors, golf, motorcycle rides, boating and adventures with family.
