Chambers Street Streetscape

Newburgh, New York

The City of Newburgh, located south of Poughkeepsie and Highland NY, received a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) which helps to provide communities with the necessary resources to address a wide range of community development needs. A 750-foot stretch of Chambers Street, in downtown Newburgh, was selected to receive improvements for this project.

C.T. Male Associates provided survey services to provide topography and to locate existing utilities along the project corridor. In conjunction with the project landscape architect, the design included new curbs and sidewalks, landscaped areas, tree plantings, traffic calming curb bump-outs at crosswalks, parallel parking striping on both sides of the one-way street, new street signage, and new drainage infrastructure.

Upon completion of final design, C.T. Male Associates prepared construction documents (plans and specifications) for the project and assisted the City of Newburgh in reviewing contractor bids and recommended award. CT Male Associates also provided part-time construction observation services throughout the duration of the project.
