Malta & Stillwater, NY

C.T. Male Associates provided land surveying services required for all aspects of the proposed development of the Luther Forest Technology Campus in the Towns of Malta and Stillwater New York, located just north of the C.T. Male Associates main headquarters in Latham NY.

From the initial sketch planning surveys to the ALTA / ACSM land title boundary and topographic survey on the proposed 1,350-acre project site, C.T. Male Associates used in-house GPS equipment as well as miles of traditional traverse to complete the project tasks. At times, the project required as many as four field crews and six office personnel to complete complex tasks within the client’s strict time schedule. Over 7,000 man hours have been spent on this project to date.

Project tasks included:

  • ALTA / ACSM surveys for the project site as well as numerous surrounding properties
  • plan and profile sheets for the proposed sewer line and electrical transmission lines
  • topographic surveys for over 1,400 acres mapped to a contour interval of one foot
  • preparation of numerous deed descriptions
  • field stakeout of initial design

Topography of the site was accomplished using controlled aerial photogrammetric methods. Due to the dense tree cover on the site, much of it had to be field surveyed via conventional survey methods. The boundary and topographic survey prepared for design shows the project site and surrounding properties at a scale of 1″ = 40′ on 71 map sheets.

In April 2006, the project was awarded the Platinum Award in the Surveying and Mapping category by ACENY, and was featured in the June 2006 edition of POB Magazine.

The project is continuing with stakeout and mapping for archaeological investigation, and stakeout of proposed roads.
