MARC 1 Natural Gas Pipeline - Land Surveying Services
MARC 1 2

Northeast Pennsylvania

C.T. Male Associates was retained to provide ongoing surveying and mapping of a 40-mile 30” natural gas pipeline intended to connect the Transco Lidey Line and the Tennessee Gas Pipeline 300 Line.  Project tasks included:

  • initial route planning
  • land surveying
  • preparation of alignment sheets and erosion and sediment control sheets to be submitted to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP)
  • preparation of alignment sheets for a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) permit.

Numerous maps showing wetlands areas, cultural resources, water quality resources, condemnation properties, restrictive covenants and other construction restrictions were prepared as needed.  C.T Male Associates also prepared drawings and details for a proposed horizontal directional drill of the Susquehanna River.

During the construction phase of the project, C.T Male Associates had as many as nine 2 person field crews on site for staking the location of the pipeline and collecting data for the final record drawings. An on-site technician processed data daily in order to provide the Client with the most current information. The crews managed many challenges, including the mountainous terrain, relentless mud, long days and many weekends, with outstanding professionalism.
